LAWRENCE, Kan. – The University of Delaware women's golf team wrapped up its swing of Midwest tournaments, finishing in ninth place at the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational, hosted by the University of Kansas. The Blue Hens carded a three-round score of 44-over par 908 to place ninth in the 13-team field at the at the par-72, 6,085-yard Lawrence Country Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Blue Hens totaled 37 birdies as a team over the 54-hole tournament, including 16 during Monday's second round when UD carded a team score of 298 to move up to seventh place.
Henkel carded a team-high 12 birdies over the three rounds to finish in a tie for 27th place. She put five birdies on the card over the final 18 holes to move into the top 30.
Khokhlova tied with Henkel as she finished with five birdies over the 54 holes.
Malosh had 11 birdies for the tournament, including five during Monday's second round as she fired an even-par 72 to move into the top 20. She added four more birdies during Tuesday's final round.

UP NEXT
Delaware will close out its fall schedule with its home tournament as the squad will host the Lady Blue Hen Invitational. The two-day, three-round tournament will be held October 19-20 at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach.
