Men’s Basketball Travels to Iona for First Road Contest

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – The University of Delaware men's basketball team (1-1) hits the road for the first time this season for a matchup with the Iona Gaels (0-2) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

ABOUT THE HENS

Delaware is coming off its first win of the season, defeating Robert Morris, 81-77.
Niels Lane leads the team in scoring, averaging 17.5 points per game while shooting 66.7 percent from the floor. Lane also leads the Blue Hens in rebounds (6.0) and steals (1.5) per game.
D-II All-American transfer Erik Timko is right behind Lane, averaging 16.0 points per contest.
Head coach Martin Ingelsby needs one win to pass Monté Ross for second most in program history.

ABOUT THE GAELS

Iona is coming off its second loss of the season, falling 90-76 at Hofstra.
Head coach Tobin Anderson is in his second season at Iona, after spending one season at Fairleigh Dickinson where he led the No. 16 seeded Knights to the NCAA Tournament's second round after a stunning upset over No. 1 Purdue.
Nine of the 15 players on the roster are a junior or senior.
Transfer forward Clarence Rupert leads the Gaels in scoring, posting 17.5 points per game.
