Men's Tennis Sharpens Skills at Dragon Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Delaware's men's tennis team joined together for a final time this fall at the Dragon Invitational across Philadelphia this weekend. The hidden dual style invite hosted by Drexel gave the Hens the opportunity to travel to compete against Villanova, Monmouth, and St. John's.
ON THE RECORD - "It was such a good decision to add this tournament into our Fall schedule. We faced tough competition during these past 3 days and the team was able to play good matches all across," head coach Marc Pibernat said. "Beating Villanova, Monmouth and St. John's back to back shows that we definitely did the right things on the tennis court.
With that being said, we still need to get better as a team and we will use this weekend as an opportunity to do so. We are looking forward to take the momentum we build in the fall into the spring season. A huge shoutout to our junior Tobey Lock who keeps proving to us that he is our guy when it comes to clinching matches for the team. All the focus now will be on Piotr Siekanowicz who will be representing the the University of Delaware Men's Tennis team at ITA Sectionals."

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- James Sclater picked up his first singles win as a Blue Hen during Friday's competition against Villanova.
- Delaware completely swept Villanova on Friday, winning every doubles and singles match
- Newcomers Ram Mude, Itamar Tapiro, and Aristotelis Bezianis took down their Monmouth singles opponents in straight sets on Saturday.
- Lock and Mude clinched their doubles win in a straight set during Sunday's St. John's match.
- Sclater collected his first collegiate singles match on Friday.
