Women's Lacrosse Appoints 2025 Captains

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware women's lacrosse has officially named their 2025 team captains. Head coach Amy Altig announced the squad of Kiki Grant, Morgan Gore, Delaney McDaniel, and Maggie Farragher after the team voted last spring. After demonstrating their leadership skills during fall ball, this first time group of captains is excited to lead the Hens to success in the spring.
"We are thrilled to announce our four captains that the team voted on at the end of last year," head coach Altig shared. "These four have been working hard to continue the great culture that we've built over the past years. They are intentional in how they communicate with the team and our staff, and they are leading with passion, love, and accountability. We are proud of their leadership this fall and we are excited to see where they take our program this fall."
At five foot five and number five, Grant is a senior midfielder from Connecticut that has been a Blue Hen staple over her three seasons. This past spring, Grant started in all fifteen games she was active in while putting up 18 points comprised of 17 goals and one assist. Grant tallied 37 total shots and 31 shots on goal in 2024, leaving her with a shot on goal percentage of .838. Over her career, Grant has played in 48 games with 22 starts accumulating 35 goals and three assists.
Gore is a junior midfielder who has been no stranger to the field during her first two seasons in college lacrosse. Hailing from Maryland, Gore started in 15 out of 16 games played last season. Like Grant, she also had 17 goals and one assist on the season while also winning 14 draw controls. Across her two seasons, Gore has played in 32 games with 32 goals and five assists. She has won 23 draw control battles and picked up 16 starts.
Senior attacker McDaniel is also a Maryland native. She ended her junior season as the team leader in assists at 32 assists that made up her 45 points with 13 goals. McDaniel played and started in 13 games last season while picking up 25 shots on goal. Looking back on her career, McDaniel tallies 126 points comprised of 91 assists and 35 goals during her three collegiate seasons. She has played in 46 total games with 30 starts that earned her her a spot on the 2022 CAA All-Rookie, 2023 Preseason All-CAA , and 2023 All-CAA First-Team along with the title of 2022 CAA Rookie of the Year after a strong freshman season.
Junior midfielder Farragher is further from her Illinois hometown than her east coast hailing teammates, but has made Delaware a home and her team a family over her two seasons. Farragher made 15 starts in 16 games played last spring as she accumulated 13 caused turnovers and twelve ground balls. Over her career, Farragher has played in 27 games with 16 starts with her knack for caused turnovers and scooping up ground balls blossomed during her sophomore season.
