Men’s Basketball Rolls Past Chestnut Hill, 78-51

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware men's basketball rolled past Chestnut Hill with a strong second half to pull out a 78-51 win Tuesday evening in the Bob Carpenter Center. The Blue Hens move to 6-4 overall, while the Griffins dip to 3-6.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Delaware posted a perfect first half from the line, going 10-of-10, and finished 13-of-15 for the game.
- The Hens corralled a season-best 58 rebounds and deflected a year-high seven shots.
- Erik Timko recorded a game-high 17 points and grabbed five rebounds.
- Niels Lane dropped 13 points, seven rebounds, a career-high six assists, and two blocks.
- Macon Emory registered a career-high 10 points and six rebounds.
- Gabe Moss tallied the first 10 points of his collegiate career.
- Rookie Izaiah Pasha posted six points, eight rebounds, a career-best five assists, and one block.
- John Camden snagged eight rebounds, tying his career high.
- Delaware opened the game with the first seven points prior to Chestnut Hill tying the game at seven apiece. The Griffins' nine-unanswered points were enough to take a 9-7 lead into the first break at 13:48. After trading buckets with a 20-20 tie, the Hens used an and-one opportunity from Trent Middleton Jr. to head into the under-eight timeout up 22-20. UD used a 16-2 margin over 5:30 to pull ahead 33-22 at the final media stoppage of the half with 2:55 on the clock. UD would take a 42-28 lead into the locker room.
- After swapping the first 12 points with 6-0 runs apiece, the Blue & Gold outpaced the Griffins 14-7 to go up 64-42. UD held Chestnut Hill 1-of-13 and without a field goal for 4:46, into the under-eight stoppage with that lead. UD continued to pull away with a 12-2 run over 3:19 for a 76-47 margin. Delaware held its opposition to 1-of-10 over its last 11 field-goal attempts.
- Delaware now sits 6-2 on the season when leading at the half.
- UD advances to 3-0 on Tuesdays.
- The Hens move to 88-22 under head coach Martin Ingelsby when holding opponents under 70 points, including 19-1 over the last 20 games.
- Brandon Baffone made his first appearance of the season.
