Women’s Golf Releases Spring Schedule

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Director of Golf Programs Patty Post has announced the women's golf schedule for the upcoming 2025 spring season. The Blue Hens will play five tournaments as they prepare to defend their title at the CAA Championship in April. The full schedule can be seen here.
For the fourth-straight year, the Blue & Gold will open the spring slate at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite (Feb. 23-25), hosted by Mercer University. The tournament will be played at The National Course in Greensboro, Georgia. Last spring, the Blue Hens placed fifth at the tournament and Alisa Khokhlova recorded a top-10 finish.
The squad will travel to the Southwest to open March at the Red Rocks Invitational (Mar. 14-16), hosted by Northern Arizona University. Play will be held at Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona, Arizona. Delaware last played in the tournament during the 2022-23 season, placing sixth as a team behind top-10 finishes from Khokhlova and Anna Kittelson.
The following weekend, UD will make the quick trip to Annapolis for a day of match play at Navy on March 22 at the United States Naval Academy Golf Club. Last year, the two programs met in Wilmington with Delaware dropping a close 5-3 decision.
The Blue Hens will close out the month of March at the inaugural More Than Golf Invitational (Mar. 27-30) at Old Barnwell in Aiken, South Carolina. The tournament was created by the ANNIKA Foundation and will be co-hosted by Augusta University and Columbia University. The individual medalist will be awarded up to three complimentary entries into the 2025 ANNIKA Women's All Pro Tour.
The final regular season tournament will see the Blue & Gold participate in the Maryland Terps Invite (Apr. 6-7), hosted by the University of Maryland. Play will be held at the University of Maryland Golf Course in College Park, Maryland.
Delaware will look to defend its title at the 2025 CAA Championship (Apr. 11-13) at The Reserve Golf Club at St. James Plantation in Southport, North Carolina. Last spring, the Blue Hens won the third CAA Championship in program history as they erased a five-stroke deficit on the final day to win with a three-round score of 45-over par. Lilia Henkel sunk a long birdie putt on the final hole to clinch the team victory and put herself into a tie atop the standings. She claimed the individual title on the first playoff hole to become the second Blue Hen to win the CAA crown and the first since Andi Slane won consecutive CAA Championships in 2015 and 2016.
Delaware is coming off a strong fall campaign, recording a pair of victories and three top-five showings in its five tournaments. The Blue Hens started the season with a seven-stroke victory at the Badger Invitational and a top-five finish at the Nittany Lion Invitational. Khokhlova defended her individual title and the Blue Hens won the team title at their own Lady Blue Hen Invitational to close out the fall.
