HENS HIGHLIGHTS
- UD made 17 threes as a team, marking a season-high and the most in the Martin Ingelsby era. It is the most three-pointers made by the Blue Hens since December 7, 2000, when they made a program-record 18 against New Hampshire.
- The Hens also set a season-best in field-goal percentage (57.7) and three-point field-goal percentage (54.8).
- The Hens tallied a season-mark 24 assists, one shy of the most under Ingelsby.
- Delaware had five players in double figures for the second time this season - Cavan Reilly (20), Erik Timko (18), John Camden (13), Izaiah Pasha (12), and Niels Lane (12).
- Allen (5), Camden (4), and Pasha (4) all had career highs in assists.
- Camden started the scoring with a make from long range 2:13 into the game. Heading into the first media timeout, the Blue Hens were up 11-2, using an 8-0 run over 1:35 that included a pair of Allen threes. UD held the Hornets without a field goal for 5:01 shortly before the second media timeout, at which point the Hens led 19-8. The Blue & Gold defense continued to stifle the visitors, holding them to a 1-for-12 shooting stretch, while the Delaware lead ballooned to 25-10. The Hens took a 42-27 advantage into the locker room with a majority of their points coming from beyond the arc, hitting 11 threes in the first half.
- The second half began with a 7-2 Delaware run that gave the Hens a 20-point lead. At the under-16 media stoppage, UD held a 49-33 margin. Delaware used a 6-0 run that spanned 1:24 to have its lead jump up to 24 points, causing a Delaware State timeout with under 12 minutes to play. At the under-four media timeout, the two teams combined to make their last 14 field goals, leaving Delaware with an 85-71 lead. The Blue & Gold ended the game making their last six field goals, winning 93-80.
- Delaware moves to 5-1 when leading at halftime this season.
- It was the first time since 2017-18 that UD has surpassed 93 or more points in multiple games in a single season against D-I opponents (97 vs Cornell, December 28, 2017, and 96 vs UNCW, January 7, 2018).
- Reilly has scored 18+ points in four-straight games for the first time in his career.
- UD's 26-point lead in the second half is the largest of the season.
- The Hens never trailed in the game, which is the first time this season.
The Blue Hens will travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. on Friday to take on Duquesne. Tip-off from UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
