PITTSBURGH – Duquesne was too much for University of Delaware men's basketball Friday night, defeating the Blue Hens 80-66. UD drops to 5-4, snapping its three-game win streak, while the Dukes advance to 2-7.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Delaware finished with five blocks as a team, including a career-high two from Trent Middleton Jr.
Niels Lane posted a game-high 20 points – his first 20-point performance of the season and second of his career. He finished 8-of-10 from the field, including 2-of-3 from long range.
Izaiah Pasha recorded his fifth-straight double digit scoring performance with 10 points. He also grabbed four rebounds and tied his career mark with four assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Timko started the game with a his 250^th triple of his career to put the Hens up, 3-0. Duquesne pulled ahead 4-3, but UD held an 11-8 advantage at the first media break at 15:24. The Blue & Gold would lead by as many as seven at 22-15 with the Dukes pulling within three on two occasions before a 30-26 score at the under-four media stoppage. The home team continued to battle back, pulling within one at the half - 38-37.
Duquesne pulled ahead by a pair with a 5-2 advantage over the opening 1:37 of the second half. A back and forth started with the home team ahead after trading the next 18 points. A timeout from the home team sent it to break 50-48 with 12:38 left. The Dukes extended their lead to 61-53 at the under-eight media break with 7:22 on the clock and wouldn't surrender it.

GAME NOTES

Timko became the 34^th active player in all of men's college basketball with 250 career three pointers. He's only the fourth active with less than 100 games played.
