Women's Lacrosse Opens Season at Lehigh

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware's women's lacrosse team opens up their 2024 campaign at Lehigh on Feb. 9.Â
 ÂABOUT THE HENS

The Blue Hens are coming off of a strong 2023 season, finishing 4-3 in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA)Â
-
Finished fourth in the CAA, earning them a spot to compete in the CAA Tournament

The Hens look to build off of their success from last season, and have a number of contributing players returning. Top goal scorers from last season Danielle Livornese, Lizzie Hsu, and Lizzie Yurchak all return for their senior season, while Hsu is a 5th year.

Also returning for her fifth year is Madison Hranicka, the 2023 CAA Defensive Player of the Year and All-CAA First-Team, among other honors and recognitions.Â

This year, Hranicka earned preseason All-CAA Team, and Yurchak was an honorable mention.Â
- Head coach Amy Altig returns for her fifth season as a Hen.Â

In her fourth season at Delaware, Altig and her squad were able to qualify for the CAA Tournament.Â

Their eight wins were the most since the 2018 season, and their 8-8 record was their best since the 2017 season.

Finished 12-6 overall, 6-3 in the Patriot League

 Made it to the semi-finals in the Patriot League TournamentÂ

Jill Redfren is entering her eighth season as head coach for the Mountain Hawks

 Redfren has the most wins as a coach in program history.Â
