Baseball Wraps Up Series Against Rutgers

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware baseball team finishes its weekend series against Rutgers with a loss by a score of 14-3 on Sunday at Bob Hannah Stadium.
HEN HIGHLIGHTS

The Blue Hens went (8-of-34) from the plate on Sunday. They drove in 3 RBI's, walked five times and struck out 10 times.

Doug Marose started the game for the Blue Hens. He pitched 5.0 innings, gave up nine runs, six of which were earned off 13 hits, didn't walk any batters and struck out three. In relief was Ethan Shaub, Anthony Gubitosi and Eric Ludman.

After the Scarlet Knights put up three runs in the first, the Blue Hens eventually tied the game up at 3-3.Â

The first run came from Andrew Amato, who grounded into a fielder's choice and scored Eric Ludman. In the bottom of the fourth, Brett Lesher hit an RBI single to score Josearmado Diaz, and Aaron Graeber hit a bunt single that scored Aiden Stewart on the next at bat.

The Scarlet Knights scored nine unanswered runs in the fourth and fifth innings.Â
