Men's Lacrosse Returns Home for CAA Matchup with Hofstra

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's lacrosse team returns to CAA action on Saturday, March 23 as the Blue Hens host the Hofstra Pride at noon in Delaware Stadium.

ABOUT THE HENS

Delaware enters Saturday's game with a 3-3 overall record and 1-0 in CAA action.
The Hens come off a 14-6 loss to No. 6-ranked Syracuse.
Goalkeeper Kevin Ellington made a career-high 20 saves.
The Blue Hens received votes in the most recent national polls.
Ellington is 10th in the nation in save percentage (.571) and 11th in goals against average (9.64).
The Blue Hens are 10th in scoring defense with a total of 57 goals allowed across six games for an average of 9.50 per game.
As a team, Delaware leads the CAA in save percentage (.578) and goals against average (9.50).
UD also leads in man-up scoring percentage going 9-for-17 (.529).
OJ Morris is sixth in the nation in face-off percentage at .636, winning 49 of his 77 face-offs taken.
The Blue & Gold lead the nation in least amount of turnovers per game with an average of 13.33.
The Hens and Pride both defeated St. John's as UD topped the Johnnies 17-6 on Feb. 17 while Hofstra won 17-13.

Hofstra enters play with a 3-5 overall record and is 0-1 in CAA play.
The Pride have lost their last three games in a row, falling to Marist 12-10, No. 16 Rutgers 13-8, and No. 18 UNC 21-9.
Five Hofstra players have totaled over double digit goals thus far.
John Madsen leads the Pride with 24 goals and 28 points while Griffin Turner leads in assists with 17.
Defensively, JT Roselle leads Hofstra in caused turnovers with 11.
FOGO Chase Patterson is 17th in the nation in face-off percentage at .591 and leads the CAA in face-offs won with 125.
In goal, Sean Henderson has started all eight games, making 84 saves with a .452 save percentage and a 13.37 goals against average.
As a team, the Pride have a -1.25 scoring margin.

SERIES HISTORY

Hofstra leads the all-time series 32-15.
Delaware took last season's meeting 15-7 in Hempstead, N.Y.
The Blue Hens have not defeated the Pride at home since 2019 when Delaware topped Hofstra 13-7 in Delaware Stadium.
The rivalry between the two schools goes back to 1951 when Delaware won the first match-up 7-3.
