NEWARK, Del. – Behind five goals from graduate student Mike Robinson, the University of Delaware men's lacrosse team outlasted Hofstra in the pouring rain Saturday afternoon, as the Blue Hens topped the Pride 13-10 in a back-and-forth contest. Delaware improved to 4-3 and 2-0 in CAA action while Hofstra fell to 3-6 and 0-2 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pride got out to an early 2-0 lead, but McCurry responded with UD's lone goal of the first quarter to put the Hens on the board. The Pride put up two more before the end of the first to take a 4-1 lead.
- In the second, Robinson tallied his first of the game to make it a 4-2 contest, but back-to-back goals from Hofstra's Trevor Natalie and John Madsen put the Pride ahead 6-2 with 8:54 remaining in the half. McCurry's second goal of the day at the 6:11 mark made it a 6-3 game, followed by two consecutive goals from Robinson put the Hens within one score before the break.
- From the 12:05 mark to the 9:06 mark in the third, the two squads went back and forth as the Pride regained a two-goal lead, but Robinson's fourth goal and Acchione's first knotted the game at seven apiece. With 9:06 left in the quarter, Trey Parkes gave the Pride what would be their last lead of the day at 8-7 as three Delaware goals over the next 5:00 of action gave the Hens the lead for good.
- Leading 10-8 after the third quarter, Acchione opened the fourth with consecutive goals to put UD ahead 12-8, their largest lead of the day. The Pride added two more down the stretch to cut the Hens' lead to just two, but after running down the clock, Ward put the game on ice with his second goal of the game to seal the win for the Blue & Gold.
