Women's Lacrosse's Hranicka Earns CAA Defensive Player of the Week for Fourth Time this Season

RICHMOND, Va. For the fourth time this season, University of Delaware women's lacrosse's Madison Hranicka has been named CAA Defensive Player, the league announced Monday.

Hranicka stood tall on the defensive end in the Blue Hen's lone game last week, totaling six ground balls and six caused turnovers.

In a 19-9 win at William & Mary, Hranicka's six caused turnovers gave her 131 for her collegiate career, surpassing Erin Wein for most caused turnovers in women's lacrosse history at Delaware.

Her strong play against William & Mary gives Hranicka a total of 52 ground balls and 48 caused turnovers in 11 games this season, averaging 4.7 ground balls and 4.3 caused turnover per game. Additionally, she is averaging per contest the most ground balls and caused turnovers in the country.

Hranicka's defensive effort helped improve the Hens to 8-3 this season, while giving the Hens their first conference win.
