Men's Lacrosse Reenters Nation's Top-20 in All Major Polls

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's lacrosse team reentered the nation's top-20 in all three major polls Monday, as the Blue Hens were ranked as high as No. 17 by USA Lacrosse and No. 18 and No. 19 in the USILA and Inside Lacrosse polls, respectively.
Delaware comes off a 16-12 win over Stony Brook back on Saturday April 13 for UD's fourth in a row and their fifth straight CAA win. This week's CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week, JP Ward, matched a season-high seven points with two goals and five assists. Senior goaltender Kevin Ellington recorded a career-high 21 saves and finished the day with a .636 save percentage, his fourth performance with a save percentage of .600 or better.
Ellington is now the nation's leader in save percentage at .602. As a team, Delaware has the No. 3-ranked scoring defense in the country and is second in man-up offense with a .654 power play percentage, just behind the 2023 national champions Notre Dame. The Blue & Gold lead the country with the least amount of turnovers committed at 12.60.
After falling to Syracuse back on March 16, Delaware has outscored opponents 64-31 during its four-game winning streak. During this stretch, the Blue Hens have averaged 16.00 goals per game and allowed an average of just 7.75 goals to opponents.
Delaware looks to move up in the top-20 next week as the Blue Hens take on Drexel on Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m. on the road.
