Nkwonta, Schmitt Leads Track & Field at Kehoe Twilight Meet

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Delaware track & field team was led by a pair of Blue Hens at the Kehoe Twilight Meet, hosted by the University of Maryland on Friday, May 3 from Kehoe Track & Field Complex in College Park, Md. Kosie Nkwonta and Rachel Schmitt were the lone representatives for the Blue Hens competing in the hammer throw and javelin, respectively.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Nkwonta led the charge for the Blue Hens in the hammer throw and saw her first toss fly through the air for 47.85m to finish the event in eighth place.
Schmitt headlined the javelin for the Blue & Gold to close out the day. Schmitt's fourth throw went for a personal-best mark of 41.49m, finishing in third place.
Schmitt's new mark remains seventh in school history.

UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will return to the track to open the postseason schedule at the 2024 CAA Track & Field Outdoor Championship, hosted by Elon. The two-day championships are slated to start next Friday (May 10-11) from Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex in Elon, N.C.
