Nkwonta, Schmitt Leads Track & Field at Kehoe Twilight Meet

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Delaware track & field team was led by a pair of Blue Hens at the Kehoe Twilight Meet, hosted by the University of Maryland on Friday, May 3 from Kehoe Track & Field Complex in College Park, Md. Kosie Nkwonta and Rachel Schmitt were the lone representatives for the Blue Hens competing in the hammer throw and javelin, respectively.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Nkwonta led the charge for the Blue Hens in the hammer throw and saw her first toss fly through the air for 47.85m to finish the event in eighth place.
- Schmitt headlined the javelin for the Blue & Gold to close out the day. Schmitt's fourth throw went for a personal-best mark of 41.49m, finishing in third place.
- Schmitt's new mark remains seventh in school history.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will return to the track to open the postseason schedule at the 2024 CAA Track & Field Outdoor Championship, hosted by Elon. The two-day championships are slated to start next Friday (May 10-11) from Jerry and Jeanne Robertson Track and Field Complex in Elon, N.C.
