Rowing Has Record Number 13 Named As CRCA Scholar Athletes

NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware's rowing team earned a program-record 13 CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association. Storme Buckle, Delaney Denegar, Grace Diehl, Sarah Donaldson, Maya Ferrer, Harriet Gaughan, Lydia Greenwood, Meaghan Leahy, Cornelia Meiss, Julia Moller, Grace Phillips, Makana Steinmetz, and Grace Visser all received the recognition
To qualify, an athlete must meet academic and athletic requirements, such as being in at least their second year of eligibility and maintaining an average cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Additionally, student-athletes must have rowed in their institution's NCAA or IRA (lightweight) eligible boats for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races or race in an NCAA Boat at their Conference Championship/NCAA Championship.Â
Buckle, Denegar, Meiss, Phillips and were named as a CRCA Scholar-Athlete for the second consecutive year. Ferrer is a repeat honoree from 2021-2022.Â
Diehl, Donaldson, Gaughan, Greenwood, Moller, Steinmetz, and Visser were first-time honorees.Â
