Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Delaware volleyball earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, announced on Wednesday by the AVCA.
Initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, the award honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that display excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average during the 2023-24 year.

The Blue Hens posted a cumulative GPA of 3.380 on their way to their first team academic award since 2018 and fourth all-time. Kennedi Inman earned a 4.0 GPA for the year while, Savannah Seemans had a 4.0 GPA in the fall, and Ezgi Basaranar, Lily Rogers, and Amelia Painter had 4.0 GPAs in the spring. Seven student-athletes had a GPA at least 3.70 for the year. UD also earned the AVCA Team Academic Award in 2018, 2015, and 2012.
Delaware, the reigning CAA Tournament Champions, will begin their season against Michigan on August 30, and open up at home on Sept. 13 as they host the Blue Hen Invitational. Delaware's final CAA season begins on the road on Sept. 21 against Campbell. The Blue Hens will play Towson, a rematch of the 2022 and 2023 CAA Championship games, on Sept. 28 and 29. The CAA Championship begins Nov. 21. Head coach Kimberly Lambert's, in her third season as head coach, has accumulated 41 wins at UD, the most through two season's by a coach in program history.
