Delaware Field Hockey Announces 2024 Schedule

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware field hockey program and head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof are excited to announce the Blue Hens' 2024 schedule. This season's slate features 18 games with seven hosted at Fred Rullo Stadium and 11 road competitions highlighted by a mid-Sept. trip to the University of Iowa.
The Blue Hens square off against 12 non-conference opponents including three from the 2023 NCAA tournament, Saint Joseph's, Iowa and American.
Delaware opens the 2024 season on Sunday, Sept. 1 against Lafayette at 1 p.m. before heading to Lewisburg, Pa. to take on Bucknell (9/6). Two days later, the Hens will host Penn State in their home opener followed by two games in Iowa City against New Hampshire in a neutral site competition and Iowa on Sept. 14 and 15, respectively. Delaware opens CAA play on the road against Towson (9/20) followed by a non-conference game with American (9/22). The Hens close out Sept. with Hofstra (9/27) and UConn (9/29).
The Hens open Oct. on the road against Monmouth (10/4) followed by a home game against Saint Joseph's (10/6). The Hens then head south to face William & Mary (10/11) followed by a bout with Princeton (10/13). UD returns home to host Northeastern (10/18) before the final two road games against Columbia (10/20) and Penn (10/27). Delaware closes out the 2024 regular season at home as the Blue & Gold host Drexel (11/1) and Fairfield (11/3).
The CAA Championship semifinals begin on Nov. 8 with the championship to be played on Nov. 10. The first round of the NCAA tournament is set for Nov. 11.
