Men’s Golf Earns GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's golf team was named a recipient of the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Outstanding Team Academic Award, as announced by the GCAA on Thursday. Programs across all divisions of collegiate golf earned the award for having a team GPA of at least 3.00 for the 2023-24 academic year.
Delaware was one of 240 programs to earn the GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award and one of just 59 Division I teams to receive the Presidents Special Recognition for having a team GPA of at least 3.50. The Blue Hens led all UD athletic teams with a 3.66 team GPA for the past academic year. Additionally, a quartet of student-athletes – Sparky Ariyachatvakin, Jack Halleron, Casper Nerpin and Egor Zubov – were named 2023-24 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars.
The Blue Hens finished among the top 10 in eight of their 11 tournaments in 2023-24, including a fifth-place finish at the CAA Championship. Individually, UD amassed eight top-10 finishes and had 42 rounds under par. The squad will return the majority of its lineup next season, including four of its top five leaders in stroke average.
