"I'm extremely excited to get to start working at Delaware," O'Neill said. "I think both Coach Hayman and the administration have a great vision for the program and the University has a tremendous amount of resources available which I believe will help us be incredibly successful."

He was instrumental in Milligan's historic triple crown achievement in the conference and qualified six athletes for the NAIA national championships, with four athletes earning NAIA All-American honors in relay events. O'Neill coached 14 individual Appalachian Athletic Conference champions and 39 podium finishers within three years.
"I am excited to welcome Coach O'Neill to our staff and to see him start working with our sprints, jumps, hurdles, and multis groups," Hayman said. Additionally, he qualified the college's first men's and women's sprints relay teams to NJCAA Nationals and sent over 20 athletes to Division I, Division II, and NAIA universities on scholarship.
O'Neill began his coaching career as a volunteer track & field coach at the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM) (2017-18). There, he assisted in the development of athletes such as Elias Keter, who placed seventh in the 10,000 meters and sixth in cross country; Brandon McDonald, a former walk-on athlete, who placed fifth in the 1500 meters with a seven-second personal record improvement; and Kipkirui Victor, who placed eighth in the 10,000 meters.
