Track & Field Team, Ayeni, Receives USTFCCCA Academic Accolades

NEW ORLEANS – The University of Delaware track & field team was named a the 2024 NCAA Division 1 Women's cross country All-Academic team by U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) on Monday.
In addition, throws athlete Olamide Ayeni was named as an All-Academic athlete by the organization. The freshman from Denton, Texas boasted a 3.93 cumulative GPA while being a key performer for the Fightin' Blue Hens. She earned a gold medal at the Coastal Athletic Association Championships in the discus throw, and qualified to compete in the First Round of the NCAA Championships, as well as the USATF U20 Championships.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
The Blue Hens earned a team GPA of 3.55 in the spring.
