Men’s Soccer Sweeps Saint Peter’s with a Shutout
9/3/2024 10:48:00 PM | Men's Soccer
NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team successfully defeated Saint Peter's with a score of 4-0 on Tuesday evening, boosting their record to 3-1.
ON THE RECORD
"I thought we did well on both sides of the ball tonight and deserved the result," said head coach, Tommy McMenemy. "In possession we moved it well, though I'd have liked to see more of a killer mentality after the first goal. Before the game we talked about being proactive defensively to limit their opportunities in transition and on set-pieces, and I thought Adam and the the back four did an excellent job managing that. A lot of positives to build on."
"The team started well, scoring in the first couple of minutes," shared Luke Chatten. "Then I thought we should have been more aggressive in keeping that momentum and pressure. At half time we took what the coaches had said to heart and had a solid response putting away some chances in the early second half, ultimately helping us seal the win."
