Men’s Basketball Posts Offensive Explosion in 98-88 Win at North Carolina A&T

GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Delaware men's basketball posted an offensive onslaught Thursday night in a 98-88 win over North Carolina A&T. It is the first time with two 98+ point performances in a season for the Blue Hens since 2000-01. UD advances to 9-7, 2-1 CAA, while the Aggies dip to 4-13, 0-4 CAA.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Delaware shot 54.3 percent and held a +4-rebounding margin in the first half. UD finished at 55.6 percent overall including 42.1 percent from deep, and 80-percent at the line.
- The Hens won the rebounding margin 44-33.
- Izaiah Pasha posted a career-high 22 points. He also added a career-best six assists with zero turnovers, five rebounds, and two steals.
- John Camden tallied his first career double-double with 21 points and a career-best 10 rebounds. He's the first Blue Hen to record a double-double this season.
- Niels Lane contributed 18 points.
- Cavan Reilly dropped 13 points in his return after missing a pair of games with an illness.
- Macon Emory finished with a career-best 12 points. It's his second-straight game setting a career mark in points.
- Delaware held the early advantage as it connected on 6-of-9 to start the game up 14-11 at the first break with 14:49 on the clock and Camden heading to the line for two. The home team pulled ahead by one heading into the next media break before the Hens ripped off an 8-0 run over 1:04 to go up 28-21 with 10:35 left. UD continued to hold the upper hand and took a 6-2 margin over 1:18 to force an Aggie timeout with UD ahead 40-31. Lane scored the final bucket before the timeout to put himself into double figures at 10. The Hens would go up by as many as 13 prior to NC A&T cutting the gap to three, however UD held the lead at the break 47-41.
- The Blue & Gold built the lead to as many as nine in the opening 9:09 of the second frame, but the teams would end up trading points with 19 apiece to that point for a six-point Hens' lead 66-60 with 10:51 on the clock. The Aggies made it a four-point game at 68-66 with 9:33 left and UD scored seven-unanswered to push it back to a an 11-point lead, 75-64 with 6:54 on the clock. The Hens pulled away to a 20-point differential with 2:01 left. The Aggies took a 13-0 run over 1:28 at 91-84 with 25 ticks left.
- Delaware moves to 4-1 when its opponent scores first.
- UD advances to 9-2 when leading at the half.
- The Blue & Gold remain undefeated in the all-time series with NC A&T at 4-0.
- The Hens have had five in double figure points in two of the three conference games.
- Delaware has scored 90 or more points in four games this season – the most since the 2013-14 CAA Championship team.
- Erik Timko is 15 points away from 2,000 in his career.
