NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team topped non-conference DIII opponent Neumann University 10-0 at Grant Stadium on Tuesday evening.
With the win, the Fightin' Blue Hens' overall record becomes 10-1-1. This was also head coach, Tommy McMenemy's 30th career win.
UD broke three program records in tonight's win. First, Stenner broke the program record and tied the Summit League record for most assists in a single game with four. Then the team set a new program record for most goals scored in a single game with 10, as well as the largest win margin in program history.
"The boys approached tonight really well considering we're coming off a tough weekend, and are in the midst of big conference games" McMenemy said. "Neumann were missing some guys which I know flattered the score line, but we moved the ball really well considering we had a much changed line-up ourselves. We were able to get good minutes into the legs for the whole squad, and can now turn our attention to conference play for the remainder of the year."
