Men's Soccer's Monath named Summit League Midfielder of the Year; Seven Earn All-League Honors

SIOUX, S.D. – The University of Delaware's Rich Monath has been named the 2025 Summit League Midfielder of the Year as announced by the league Saturday. Six others have earned all-league honors in the Fightin' Blue Hens first season in the Summit League.
Monath, Jan Schroeder, and Marius Stenner were named First Team All-League. Luke Chatten, JoJo Elliott Jr., Freddy Jeffreys, and Mikey Johnson received second team honors. Elliott Jr. and Jeffreys also landed themselves on the All-Newcomer Team.
Monath, named Midfielder of the Year and First Team All-League, finished the regular season with 12 goals, two assists, and 26 points. His 12 goals ranks first in the Summit League and seventh in the NCAA. Monath is also first in league and tied for ninth in the nation in game-winning goals with four. The junior became only the second person in program history to record two hat tricks in a single season, which is also the program record. Monath and Johnson also became the first teammates to record hat tricks in the same game in Summit League history. Monath received Offensive Performer of the Week from the league once this season. This is Monath's second of the year honors, as he was named the CAA Rookie of the Year in 2023.
Schroeder, named First Team All-League, recorded four assists in his 16 starts at left back in the regular season. He earned Summit League Defensive Performer of the Week in September and helped contribute to the program record breaking 10 team shutouts in a single season.
Stenner, named First Team All-League, tallied 11 goals, nine assists and 31 points on his 16 games played thus far. He was ranked No. 11 in the Top Drawer Soccer mid-season rankings, and has been on their player of the year watch list five times. The Sophomore is also on the Hermann Trophy Watch List. Stenner ended the regular season first in the league and ninth in the nation in game-winning goals (4). He is also leading the league in points per game (1.94), shots per game (3.50), assists (9), and points (31). Stenner earned offensive weekly honors from the league three times this season.
Chatten recorded one assists on his 16 starts at center back to earn Second Team All-League. The Captain also contributed to the program record breaking 10 team shutouts in a single season.
Elliott Jr., named to second team and newcomer team, recorded 49 saves, and nine shutouts in his 1,350 minutes played in the regular season. His save percentage (0.845) and goals against average (0.60) lead the Summit League and rank top 10 in the NCAA. The freshman's nine clean sheets is first in the league, fifth in the nation, and ties the individual single-season program record. He was ranked the No. 5 freshman in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer and earned Summit League Defensive Performer of the Week three times this season. Elliott Jr. also contributed to the team allowing the least amount of goals in a single season with nine.
Jeffreys, named to second team and newcomer team, tallied two goals, nine assists and 13 points on his 15 starts this year. His nine assists leads the Summit League and ties for seventh in the NCAA.
Johnson's regular season play includes 11 goals, three assists for 25 points, to earn him second team honors. The captain is currently tied for 12th in the NCAA in goals per game (0.69), and ranks 15th in the nation in both total points (25) and points per game (1.56). Johnson and Monath also became the first teammates to record hat tricks in the same game in Summit League history.
