NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Amy Altig has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2026 season. The Fightin' Blue Hens will play 16 games that include nine home contests at Delaware Stadium and eight games against new opponents. The schedule features eight conference matchups as Delaware enters its first season as members of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN).
The full schedule can be seen here.
The Blue Hens will open the season with a matchup at Temple University, making the short trip to Philadelphia on February 6. Delaware is 18-21 all-time against the Owls and the two teams have met every season since 2021. In last year's season-opener, the Blue & Gold came away with a 12-10 victory, highlighted by three goals from Maggie Craytor and three points by Jaclyn Marszal.
Delaware will play its home opener on February 13 when it welcomes another familiar foe in Rutgers to Delaware Stadium. The two teams have met 32 times with the Blue Hens holding a 17-15 series advantage. Last spring, UD held a lead at halftime before falling to the Scarlet Knights despite two goals from both Morgan Gore and Sam Paradise.
The Blue & Gold will play its first new opponent when Navy visits Newark for the first time on February 18. Delaware will open a busy March as it closes it's three-game homestand with a contest against UMBC on March 4. The Blue Hens are 9-6 all-time against the Retrievers and have won three-straight in the series, including a 16-8 victory in Baltimore last season. Three different players had five points, led by four goals and an assist by Marszal, and Ella Rishko recorded a hat trick.
Delaware will head out on the road for a pair of road games beginning with a contest against Georgetown on March 7. The last time UD played the Hoyas in Washington, D.C. in 2024, Marszal had three goals and two assists and Steph Marszal made 11 saves as the Hens came away with a 13-11 victory.
The squad will return to the City of Brotherly Love on March 11 for a matchup against former CAA opponent Drexel. The Blue Hens are 27-13 all-time against the Dragons and will be looking to avenge last year's loss in the CAA semifinals.
Mount St. Mary's will come to Delaware Stadium on March 14 as the Hens look to move to 4-0 in the all-time series. Last season, UD defeated the Mountaineers 12-9 on the road as eight different players scored goals, including two each from Rishko and Paradise.
Delaware will play its first two ASUN contests on the road against a pair of first-time opponents. The Blue & Gold will travel to Clarksville, Tennessee for a contest against Austin Peay on March 19 before continuing on to St. Charles, Missouri to take on Lindenwood on March 21.
A five-game homestand will commence on March 26 when UD hosts Jacksonville for the first time. Delaware will play its fourth-consecutive game against a first-time opponent when Stetson comes to Newark on March 28.
The Blue Hens will play its final non-conference game of the season with a midweek matchup against Saint Joseph's on April 4 at Delaware Stadium. It will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2022 and UD will look to snap a four-game losing streak to the Hawks.
Delaware will close out its home slate with ASUN games against Kennesaw State on April 9 and Coastal Carolina on April 11. The Blue & Gold has never played the Owls and is 0-2 against the Chanticleers, with the last meeting coming in 2021.
The regular season will close on the road as UD takes on another pair of first-time foes. The Hens will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina to play Queens on April 16 before taking on Liberty in Lynchburg, Virgina on April 22.
The 2026 ASUN Tournament will begin on April 28 and will be played at Jacksonville University. The top six teams from the regular season will qualify for the tournament with the top two teams earning a first-round bye.
