2025 Men's Soccer Season in Review

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware's men's soccer team wrapped up a record-breaking 2025 season for its first year in The Summit League and 100th season overall. The Fightin' Blue Hens finished 12-2-3 overall and 3-1-2 in conference, after making it to The Summit League Semifinals.
TEAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Played in The Summit League Semifinals in first season in the league
- Rich Monath was named The Summit League Midfielder of the Year
- Nine Summit League Peak Performers of the Week
- Seven All-Summit League honorees
- Six College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District laurels

- Best start in program history (7-0)
- Played 10-straight games without any losses to open the season (9-0-1)
- Undefeated record at home (8-0)
- Ranked #24 in Top Drawer Soccer's Top 25 Weekly Poll (Oct. 6)
- Received votes in national polls three times for a total of 21 votes (Sept. 30, Oct. 7, Nov. 11)
- Highest regional ranking of the season was third in the west region (Sept. 16)
- Was regionally ranked fourth for four-straight weeks (Sept. 23, Sept. 30, Oct. 7, Oct. 14)
- Delaware finished the season ranked first in the NCAA in scoring offense (2.82 goals per game) and points per game (8.53), second in goal differential (+37), fifth in shutout percentage (.588), sixth in shots on goal per game (7.29), total goals (48), and total points (145), seventh in goals against average (.647) and win percentage (0.794), ninth in total assists (49), and 11th in shot accuracy (.484).
- The Blue & Gold led The Summit League in 17 team categories: shots (256), shots per game (15.06), shots on goal (124), shots on goal per game (7.29), shot accuracy (.484), goals (48), goals per game (2.824), assists (49), assists per game (2.882), points (145), points per game (8.53), corner kicks per game (6.59), goals against (11), goals against average (.65), save percentage (.838), shut outs (10), and shutout percentage (0.588).
- Delaware also led the league in 15 individual categories: shots (Marius Stenner, 57), shots per game (Marius Stenner, 3.35), shots on goal (Marius Stenner, 26), goals (Rich Monath, 12), goals per game (Rich Monath, .706), game-winning goals (Marius Stenner and Rich Monath, 4), assists (Marius Stenner and Freddy Jeffreys, 9), assists per game (Freddy Jeffreys, .563), points (Marius Stenner, 31), points per game (Marius Stenner, 1.82), goals against (JoJo Elliott Jr., 11), goals against average (JoJo Elliott Jr., .69), save percentage (JoJo Elliott Jr., .828), shutouts (JoJo Elliott Jr., 9), and shutouts per game (JoJo Elliott Jr., .563).

- The team had the fewest losses in program history of seasons with at least 15 games (2).
- As of September 11, Delaware was one of two schools in the NCAA that had both men's and women's soccer programs that were undefeated.
- As of September 22, Delaware was the only men's soccer program in the nation with no losses or ties.
- As of October 21, UD was one of two schools in the NCAA that both men's and women's teams had recorded 10 or more wins, alongside Stanford.
- The Hens swept offensive and defensive weekly honors three different weeks, including two in-a-row.
- Delaware recorded the third-highest scoring average in program history (2.82).
- UD had the second-most shots on goal per game in a season (7.29).
- The Blue & Gold had three double-digit goal scorers: Rich Monath (12), Mikey Johnson (11), and Marius Stenner (11).
- The team totaled 10 different goal scorers on the season: Rich Monath (12), Mikey Johnson (11), Marius Stenner (11), Charles Giordano (4), Freddy Jeffreys (2), Liam Penny (2), Ethan Williams (1), Beckett Field (1), Emmett Kershner (1), and Connor Parry (1).
- Rich Monath led The Summit League in goals and is tied for eighth in program history for goals in a single season (12). He is also ninth in the NCAA in goals per game (0.71) and 15th in both points per game (1.53) and total goals.
- Rich Monath was only the second The Summit League player to record hat tricks in back-to-back games. These were Monath's first two career hat tricks and the program's 16th and 18th. He is tied for first for most hat tricks in a single season in program history.
- Mikey Johnson's four goals against Neumann tied The Summit League record for most individual goals in a game. This was the 17th hat trick in program history and Johnson's second of his career. His four goals and eight points in this game are tied for second in the record book for most single-game goals and points.
- Mikey Johnson is 17th in the nation in goals per game (0.65), 18th in points per game (1.47), and 19th in shots on goal per game (1.53) and total goals (11).
- Rich Monath and Mikey Johnson became the first teammates in program and The Summit League history to score hat tricks in the same game.
- Marius Stenner had two four-game stretches this season where he scored at least one goal and led the team in points and shots in both of his first two seasons as a Blue Hen.
- Marius Stenner's 31 points this season are tied for seventh in program history. Stenner was also eighth in the NCAA in points per game (1.82), 11th in assists per game (0.53) and total points (31), 14th in shots per game (3.35), 17th in goals per game (0.65), and 19th in shots on goal per game (1.53) and total goals (11).
- Rich Monath and Marius Stenner tied for first in The Summit League,16th in the NCAA and are fourth in program history in game-winning goals (4). Stenner is now second in the record book in career game-winning goals (9) as a sophomore. Monath is tied for third (5).
- Freddy Jeffreys and Marius Stenner's nine assists each this season are tied for the second most single-season assists in program history and are tied for first in The Summit League and 12th in the NCAA.
- Freddy Jeffreys also ranked eighth in the nation in assists per game (0.56).
- JoJo Elliott Jr. tied the program record for most single-season shutouts (9), is tied for fourth in goalie wins (11), and is eighth in the record books in save percentage (.828). His 11 wins put him seventh in individual career program history and his save percentage is currently second. Elliott Jr. ranked ninth in the NCAA in goals against average (0.688) and shutouts (9), and 10th in save percentage (0.828).
