Second Half Struggles Erase Men’s Basketball’s Lead Against Campbell

NEWARK, Del. – Second half struggles from University of Delaware men's basketball erased a double-digit lead Saturday afternoon in the Bob Carpenter with the Blue Hens (12-15, 5-9 CAA) falling to Campbell (15-12, 10-4 CAA), 96-91.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

UD shot a season-best 65.5 percent from the field, including a season-high 59.1 percent from deep.
Delaware's 27 assists are the most during the Martin Ingelsby era.
Cavan Reilly paced the team with 24 points to tie his career mark. He went 9-of-16 overall and 5-of-9 from deep.
Erik Timko tallied 18 points on a 7-of-8 afternoon.
Izaiah Pasha neared a double-double with 17 points and a career-best nine assists. He added a career-high four steals and finished with just one turnover.
Niels Lane (12) and John Camden (10) also scored in double figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The visitors went up by as many as six points before Delaware stormed off with a lopsided 30-17 spread over 10:10 where the Hens made 10-of-12 shots, including the first seven, to take a 39-30 lead with 4:37 remaining in the half. UD finished up 46-38 and shot 70.8 percent into the locker room. The Blue & Gold went 64.3 percent from downtown on 9-of-14 in the initial period.
UD pushed it to as many as 12 points in the opening minutes of the second half, however an 11-1 run over 2:07 pushed the Camels ahead 68-67 with 10:55 at an Ingelsby timeout. Delaware took the lead back 67-65 at 11:12 but once Campbell regained it, the Hens wouldn't bounce back ahead.

GAME NOTES

Delaware suffers just its fourth loss of the season when leading at the half, moving the record to 12-4.
