Powers Nets Five Goals as Men’s Lacrosse Gets Back in the Win Column Against Marist, 12-10

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's lacrosse team got back in the win column against the Marist Red Foxes, 12-10 on Wednesday night at Delaware Stadium. The Blue Hens improve to 4-3, while the Red Foxes fall to 3-5.

HENS HIGHLIGHTS
- Delaware won 15 more faceoffs than Marist (20-5).
- Brendan Powers recorded five goals and one assist, including a hat-trick in the first half.
- Bennett Parmer tallied two goals and two assists.
- John McCurry (two assists) and Hank D'Ambrogi (one goal, one assist) each added multi-point games.
- OJ Morris won 13-of-15 faceoffs to go with a game-high nine ground balls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Powers potted Delaware's first goal on the receiving end of a McCurry assist with 9:27 left in the first quarter. Marist tied the game at one just 1:47 after the Blue Hens took the lead. A second first-quarter tally for Powers put UD back in front with 6:21 left in the frame.
- Delaware struck for three more goals in the second quarter, while Marist countered with one goal, leaving a 5-2 Blue Hens' lead at the break.
- Parmer scored a behind the back goal to open the scoring in the second half to make it 6-2. Marist added the next three goals, bringing the deficit back to one. D'Ambrogi stopped the drought for UD to make it 7-5 to end the third.
- Marist opened the scoring in the fourth quarter to cut it to 7-6 with 13:41 to play. The Blue & Gold scored five of the next six goals to open up a 12-7 advantage. The Red Foxes got three back late in the fourth, but the comeback attempt fell short.
GAME NOTES
- Delaware improves to 8-0 all-time against Marist and 4-0 under Ben DeLuca.
