Kerwood is having her best season of her career in her final year after transferring to Delaware. She has a 1.91 ERA in 124.1 innings with 13 wins, seven complete games, 150 strikeouts. 93 hits allowed, 40 walks allowed, and has held the opposition to a .203 batting average against. She leads the CAA in wins, complete games, innings pitched, and strikeouts, and is second in ERA and BAA. She also ranks in the top 10 in the Division I in total strikeouts, and became the seventh active Division I player to eclipse 600 strikeouts. She also became the third pitcher in program history to reach 150 strikeouts in a season, joining Carolynn Sloat (187 - 2004, 180 - 2006) and Kristi O'Connell (177 - 1999, 170 - 2000).Â
Delaware has earned a CAA Weekly Honor in every week it has played in, and has had five players honored so far this season (Shaffer and Billie Kerwood - Feb. 11, Gianna Costaro - Feb. 25, Josie Crossman - March 4, Morgan Hess - March 11, Kerwood - March 18, Shaffer - March 24). Its eight honors are most in the conference and three more than any other team. Kerwood's three Pitcher of the Week honors are the most in the CAA this season, and the most since Emily Winburn had four in 2023. Delaware is back in action this weekend when they take on UNCW on the road, beginning on Friday.Â
