Winburn joined Delaware's coaching staff for the 2024-2025 season as a graduate assistant following an illustrious career as a Blue Hen.
Winburn pitched for five seasons at Delaware, where she was a four-time All-CAA selection, four-time All-Region selection, three-time CAA All-Tournament selection, a 2023 CAA Pitcher of the Year nod, and graduated as the all-time program record holder in wins and saves. Winburn is the only player in program history with four All-Region selections, is one of three players to earn four All-Conference honors, and is the only pitcher. She was the first Delaware pitcher ever to win conference Pitcher of the Year. She was a 10-time CAA Pitcher of the Week, four-time CAA Rookie of the Week, and five-time CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selection. Winburn was University of Delaware's Most Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year.Â
In 2024, Winburn went 22-7 with five saves in the circle with a 1.52 ERA, 20 complete games, and seven shutouts. She pitched 207.2 innings and allowed just 169 hits with 147 strikeouts and a .216 batting average against in 41 appearances. She set single-season records for wins and tied the single-season record for appearances and saves. She was also an All-ECAC and CSC Academic All-District selection and a four-time NFCA Weekly Honor Roll Honorable Mention. Delaware won a program record 39 games with Winburn leading the staff.Â
Winburn became Delaware's first-ever conference Pitcher of the Year in 2023, as she pitched to a 2.16 ERA in 155.2 innings in 31 games, going 17-9 with a save and 112 strikeouts. She threw her first career no-hitter and 17th no-hitter in program history on May 5, 2023 against Hampton. Delaware won their second consecutive regular-season CAA title.Â
Winburn helped lead Delaware to their first-ever regular season conference title in 2022, as she went 13-9 with a 2.72 ERA in 30 appearances. She was an All-Region, All-CAA, and All-Rookie after going 13-4 with a 2.79. She became the first pitcher in UD history to win her first 11 decisions of the season, one shy of the program’s overall record for consecutive victories. During the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season, she led the CAA with six wins, three saves, and pitched to a 1.93 ERA.Â
Winburn hails from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and was a four-year starter at Chaminade Madonna High School. She was an All-State selection and was an All-County and Sun Sentinel honoree during all four years.Â
