Hrynashka, Jurkowska Pick Up CAA Doubles Team of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Delaware women's tennis duo Maryia Hrynashka & Paulina Jurkowska have been named the CAA Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week as announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The two earned this accolade after their stellar performances during the weekend's matches against LIU and Temple. On Friday, the pair defeated their LIU opponents, Mia Tsoukalas & Lucia Garrigues, in the no. 1 spot, 6-2. Both Blue Hens picked up hard-earned wins in their respective singles matches to contribute to the Delaware sweep of 7-0.
Against Temple, the team clinched the doubles point for Delaware in the no. 1 spot against Irmak Ozturk & Marianthi Christoforidou, 6-1. Jurkowska's singles win against Kelly Richter, 6-1, 6-1, earned Delaware the points needed to take the match, 4-0.
The pair have competed together for almost every match of the season and produced a doubles record of 5-4.
Hrynashka is currently no. 61 on the ITA Rankings list for singles. Her spring season has yielded her much success as her singles record sits at 7-1. Jurkowska has acquired a 7-3 singles record so far this spring.
The duo will join the rest of their squad for a double header against NJIT & Monmouth at NJIT on Saturday morning. The match against NJIT will kick off at 9 a.m. and the match against Monmouth is set to begin at 4 p.m.
