TEMPE, Ariz. - University of Delaware women's tennis junior Maryia Hrynashka has once again continued her reign on the ITA Female Division I Singles National Rankings at No. 116. This is Hrynashka's fifth time being ranked since Feb. 5.Â
Out of the 2,400 Division I women's collegiate tennis players, the ITA ranks the top 125 singles players based on a comprehensive evaluation of performance and competition level. Rankings consider a player's win-loss record, with greater emphasis on victories over higher-ranked opponents.Â
Strength of schedule is also a key factor, as wins against top-tier players carry more weight than those against unranked competitors. Additionally, head-to-head results play a significant role, ensuring that direct matchups between ranked players impact the standings.Â
Over the spring, Hrynashka has posted a spring singles record of 9-7 and doubles record of 10-5 competing from the number one spot in all matches. Â
Hrynashka is the only CAA student-athlete to be ranked in singles or doubles by the ITA. She has outranked others from Power 4 institutions like Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan.Â
Following this afternoon's road match at St. Joe's, Hrynashka will rejoin her team at VCU for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday.Â
