Rishko’s Single-Game Record 15 Draw Controls Aid Women’s Lacrosse in Comeback Win at Towson to Clinch Berth in CAA Tournament

TOWSON, Md. – Ella Rishko corralled a program single-game record 15 draw controls Sunday afternoon to aid University of Delaware women's lacrosse to a comeback 16-15 win over rival Towson to clinch a berth in the CAA Tournament. The Blue Hens advance to 9-5 overall and 5-2 CAA, while Towson dips to 6-7, 2-4 CAA.

Delaware concludes the regular season with a home date against William & Mary on Saturday.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- UD was nearly perfect on clears, going 15-of-16.
- The Blue & Gold held the advantage in ground balls (+2) and draw controls (+4).
- Rishko's 15 draw controls is also tied for the second most in a game in CAA history and most this season. She added two ground balls, a goal, an assist, and a caused turnover in her all-around effort.
- Halen Saroney continued her impressive play as of late with five points on four scores and a helper. She also scooped two ground balls and caused one turnover. The Syracuse, N.Y. native has scored 19 goals over her last six games.
- Callie Drab posted four points on two goals and two assists.
- Morgan Gore recorded a hat trick.
- Lulu Rishko and Delaney McDaniel each went for three points on two goals and a helper apiece.
- Jaclyn Marszal (1G, 1A) and Riley Sturtevant (1G) rounded out the scoring efforts.
- Erin Gormley caused a trio of turnovers and snag as many ground balls.
- Steph Marszal (7-5) snags the win with seven saves.
- Towson held the margin after the first period 4-3.
- Delaware held the advantage in the second quarter 4-2, including three unanswered to end the half up 7-6.
- The home team used an 8-4 margin in the third stanza to pull ahead by as many as three at 14-11 to end the period.
- A sizable 5-1 goal differential in favor of the Hens was the difference in the fourth. UD's defense held Towson without a possession in the offensive third for nearly six and a half minutes.
Delaware concludes the regular season with a home date against William & Mary on Saturday.
