Men’s Golf Has Five in Top 20, Place Second at Testudo Cup

IJAMSVILLE, Md. – The University of Delaware men's golf team had all five members of its lineup finish in the top 20 as the Blue Hens had another strong finish to place second at the 14-team Testudo Cup, hosted by the University of Maryland. UD tied a season-best with a 281 on Sunday to card a three-round team score of 5-under par 859. Play was held at the par-72, 6,989-yard P.B. Dye Golf Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaware put consecutive under-par round for the second time this season with a 286 during Saturday's second round and a 281 on Sunday. The Blue Hens totaled 62 birdies over the three rounds, including 22 in each of the final two, and had three eagles.
- Nerpin recorded his career-best finish to par as he totaled 11 birdies and an eagle over the 54 holes. He carded a season-best 68 in the second round, before turning in a second-straight under-par round on Sunday.
- Homer registered his first top-10 finish of the season as he finished at even-par for the tournament with 13 birdies.
- Areephun carded his team-leading seventh round under par on Sunday to shoot into the top 20. He finished with 11 birdies and an eagle for the tournament.
- Zubov and Iampongsai both turned in identical scorecards over the three rounds, finishing with 10 and eight total birdies, respectively.
- Playing as an individual, Adkins carded a season-best 5-under par 67 during Saturday's second round.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will wrap up the regular season next weekend when they make the short trip to Penn State for the Rutherford Intercollegiate. The two-day, three-round tournament will be held April 12-13 at the Penn State Blue Course.
