Five Cross Country, Track & Field Athletes Receive CSC Academic All-District Athletes

NEWARK, Del. - Five athletes from the University of Delaware cross country and track & field team received College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The five recipients of the accolade are Leah Clear, Brooke Duke, Kadence Dumas, Sara Manson and Jayde McDermid.
In order to qualify for the accolade, an athlete must be a sophomore academically, have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and rank in the top 50 in their region in at least one event. The Blue Hens compete in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Clear ranks 45th in the region in the outdoor 1500-meter run. Her time of 4:26.51 ranks fifth in program history.
Duke is tied for 33rd in the region in the outdoor long jump at 1.65 meters. Her jump is tied for seventh in program history.
Dumas ranks 18th in the region in the 800-meter dash at 2:07.30, which ranks third in program history. She finished third in the CAA Championships in the event. She also 40th in the region in the 400-meter dash with a time of 55.37.
Manson ranks ninth in the region in the heptathlon with a score of 4677 and 26th in the 100-hurdles at 14.17. Both times rank third in program history.
McDermid is 32nd in the region in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:02.37 and tied for 50th in the region in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.65. Both times rank 10th in program history.
