NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware rowing's Amari Randall competed in the 2025 International University Sports Federation (FISU) World University Summer Games in Duisburg, Germany, on July 25 and July 27, representing Team USA.
This was the second-consecutive season that a Delaware rower took part at the World University Games, as Ava Tine did so in the 2024 iteration.
"It was a mind-blowing experience," Randall said. "I walked on to the team (at Clemson) my freshman year and never anticipated being a part of a rowing team in college… It (rowing for Team USA), regardless of the outcome, is something I am going to cherish, as it was never on my radar and has now become a once-in-a-lifetime experience."
The rising senior was in the stroke seat for Team USA's straight-four events. The squad placed fourth in heat one at 7:31:26, qualifying them for the B Final.
On the final day of the games, Randall and the United States team placed fifth in the B Final at 7:46:81.
The boat consisted of rowers from George Mason, Washington State, and Wisconsin alongside Randall.

"When you're in a boat, you have to be selfless enough to give in to the boat," Randall said. "It was all small things that were happening that I had to be a mirror and give in to what I am not used to. It became an immediate trust to reach a common goal in order to make the boat mesh together."
After spending two seasons at Clemson University, Randall transferred to Delaware in 2024, where she helped the Varsity 8+ place second at the CAA Championships, helping the Fightin' Blue Hens to tie their highest team finish at the event in program history.
Randall was also part of the two-time CAA Boat of the Week in the 2024-25 season.
This upcoming season, Delaware will be part of the inaugural Mid-American Conference (MAC) women's rowing season, and it will also be Randall's final collegiate campaign.
"The technical changes and strength I gained there made me so excited for our upcoming season," Randall said. "I think it is definitely giving me more confidence coming back to the team as we continue to grow and get stronger. Everything I got this summer will definitely transfer this fall and spring."
