Women’s Golf Finishes Runner-Up at Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wisc. – The University of Delaware women's golf team finished at even par for the entire tournament, turning in a second-place finish at the Badger Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The three-round score of even-par 864 is tied for the second-best 54-hole score in program history. The 14-team event was played at the par-72, 6,267-yard University Ridge Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Fightin' Blue Hens carded 39 birdies and two eagles over the three rounds. The squad was tied for first after the opening 18 holes when they carded a 2-under par 286 with 14 birdies.
- Dunigan opened her tournament with a 2-under par 70 with four birdies on Sunday. She added four more birdies on Monday as she recorded another 70. The junior closed out the tournament with four birdies and an eagle on Tuesday as she carded a 3-under par 69 to move into the top three individually.
- Gooneratne continued her strong start to collegiate career, recording her first-career top-10 finish. She turned in a 2-under par 70 in the first round while totaling eight birdies and an eagle for the tournament.
- Kim bookended her tournament with 1-under par 71 scores in the first and third rounds. She finished with eight total birdies.
- Roberts had five birdies over the 54 holes, including three in the second round when she carded a 2-under par 70.
OF NOTE
- Delaware's team score of 864 is tied for the second-best 54-hole score in program history, matching an 864 carded at the Golfweek Fall Challenge during the 2022-23 season. It is one stroke off the school record of 863 which was recorded at the Nittany Lion Invitational during the 2021-22 season.
- Dunigan's 7-under par 209 is tied for the third-best 54-hole gross score in program history.
- She is the first Blue Hen to record all three rounds under par since Andie Slane did so in the 2015 CAA Championship.
- Delaware has competed at the Badger Invitational in each of the past three seasons, finishing in the top three each year. The Hens won last year's event after finishing third during the 2023-24 season.
