Ice Hockey Names Team Captains

NEWARK, Del. – With the start of its inaugural season just one week away, the University of Delaware ice hockey team has named the program's first-ever set of captains. Graduate student Kaitlin Finnegan and senior Tiana McIntyre will be the first Blue Hens to don the captain's "C" while juniors Mattie Robitzer and Danica Mark will serve as alternate captains.
Finnegan is entering her sixth season of collegiate hockey after spending the past five seasons at Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) foe Lindenwood. The Tecumseh, Kansas-native appeared in 107 games for the Lions, scoring seven goals and adding 16 assists for 23 points.
McIntyre enters her senior season after playing three seasons at Quinnipiac. She appeared in 67 games on the blue line for the Bobcats, registering two assists while blocking 24 shots on defense.
Robitzer appeared in four games in net over her two seasons at Northeastern. The Kennett Square, Pennsylvania-native owns a 1-1 record with a 1.99 goals-against average while saving 49 of 54 shots faces for a .907 save percentage.
Mark played two seasons at Union before transferring to UD. She appeared in 17 games for the Dutchmen, registering a goal and two assists on 14 total shots.
Delaware will drop the puck on its inaugural season on Friday, September 26 against LIU. The opening faceoff is set for 6 p.m. at UD's Fred Rust Ice Arena. The game will be streamed on FloHockey.

Individual game and season tickets for the upcoming inaugural Delaware ice hockey season are on sale now. The Blue Hens will play 16 home games at Fred Rust Ice Arena, including 12 contests in AHA play.
