Correa Tabbed CUSA Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week for Second Time

DALLAS – University of Delaware women's basketball's Kailah Correa was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week after her performance against Liberty, the league announced Monday. It is the second time this season that Correa has taken home the honor and she's the first Fightin' Blue Hen since Jasmine Dickey in 2018-19 to win conference rookie of the week multiple times in the same season.
Correa scored a career-high 21 points as the Blue Hens earned their first-ever Conference USA victory, defeating the Liberty Flames, 76-69, on Saturday. The Lebanon, Pa. native eclipsed the 20-point threshold for the first time in her career and scored double figures for the 11th time in her first 15 career games. The rookie scored 11 points in the fourth quarter while playing all 10 minutes in the frame down the stretch.
The Hens will hit the road to take on Middle Tennessee on Thursday, January 22. The game will be at 7:30 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.
