Cherisier Earns CUSA Women's Basketball Player of the Week

DALLAS – University of Delaware women's basketball's Ande'a Cherisier was named Conference USA Player of the Week after her performances against Middle Tennessee and WKU, the league announced Monday. It is the first time a Fightin' Blue Hen has earned the player of the week award from CUSA in program history.
Cherisier averaged a double-double (17.5 ppg and 10.5 rpg) in a 2-0 week for the Blue Hens. The Baltimore, Md. native scored 18 points, including reaching double-figures in just the first seven minutes of the contest against MTSU. She added 13 rebounds for her team-leading fifth double-double this season. Cherisier helped UD snap the Blue Raiders' streak of 39-consecutive Conference USA home wins dating back to March 4, 2021. Cherisier rounded out the week by recording 17 points, going 8-for-11 from the floor to go with eight rebounds in the win over WKU.
It is the second time that Cherisier has earned conference player of the week honors in her career as she was named CAA Player of the Week on February, 17, 2025.
The Hens return home this week to take on its new conference foe, Missouri State, on Thursday, January 29. The game will be at 7 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.
