Track & Field Sets New Program Record Set in 5K and Three Other Top-10 Marks at Valentine Invitational

BOSTON - University of Delaware track & field distance athlete Marie-Theres Gruber breaks the program record in the 5,000-meter run at the Valentine Invitational on Saturday.
Gruber's time of 16:16.76 breaks the previous record set by Susanna Wier (16:31.85) set back in 2022. She is one of four athletes to earn top 10 marks in program history at today's meet.
RESULTS
- Lauren Leath earned an eighth place finish in the 400-meters at 54.83. The time is a new personal best and ranks third in program history.
- Olamide Ayeni set a new personal best in the shot put at 14.91 meters, and placed fourth in the event. Her throw ranks third in program history.
- Kadence Dumas ran a time of 2:09.93 in the 800 meters, improving on her personal best by 0.06 seconds. The time ranks third in program history.
- Rachel Kuehl finished fifth in the long jump at 5.55 meters.
- Madison Gee was seventh in the triple jump at 11.30 meters.
- Taylor Stone finished eighth in the high jump at 1.65 meters
- The top Blue Hen finishers were Sara Manson in the 60-hurdles (9.17 seconds), Eva Denis in the 60-meters (7.96 seconds), Sara Penuela in the 200-meters (25.47 seconds), Leah Clear in the mile (4:57.09) and Delana Einreinhofer in the 3,000 meters (10:05.27)
