NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware baseball program had its best team performance of the year, as the Fightin' Blue Hens defeated St. Joe's 18-0 in seven innings on Wednesday at Bob Hannah Stadium.

With the win, the Blue Hens overall record is now 9-12.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Evan Bouldin and Anthony DeCesare led the way for the Blue Hens offensively. Both of the batters went 3-for-3. Bouldin had a home run and five RBIs, DeCesare had three RBIs.
UD's offense scored at least two run in six of the seven innings today.
The Blue Hens pitching staff of Chase Deibler, Nick Bilotto, Ben Moyzan and Ethan Shaub pitched seven shutout innings, and allowed just one hit. Deibler was credited with the win, and is now 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Bouldin kicked off the game with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first, and scored Jeremy Wolf.
Sal Mineo drove in two runs in the second inning off a single, along with a Vincent Davis walk with the bases loaded, and scored Mineo.
Both Bouldin and Mineo drove in two runs each off singles in the third inning.
DeCesare kept the Blue Hens offense humming in the fourth inning with a two run double to extend their lead to 10-0.
The Blue Hens scored eight runs in the sixth inning. The rally started with Luke Lambert reaching first off an error, and scored Matthew Minckler, and finished with a DeCesare RBI double to left field.

GAME NOTES

The 18 runs is the most the Blue Hens offense has scored this season.
The one hit allowed is tied for the lowest under head coach Greg Mamula. The last time the UD pitching staff allowed one hit was back on May 19, 2023 against Hofstra.

UP NEXT

Delaware will host Dallas Baptist from March 20-22 for a Conference USA matchup. It is the Blue Hens first home series as a member of CUSA.
