JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of Delaware women's lacrosse sophomore defender Lena Stolarick has been named the Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. The award recognizes Stolaricks's performance in UD's two wins last week that clinched a spot in the 2026 ASUN Championship.
Stolarick led a strong defensive effort over the two games with five caused turnovers, four ground balls and a draw control, helping the Blue Hens reach the 10-win mark for the third-consecutive season. In Thursday's victory over Kennesaw State, Stolarick had a career-high four caused turnovers and tied a career high with 4 ground balls. She added a caused turnover in the postseason-clinching win over Coastal Carolina.
Against the Owls, Delaware allowed just three goals, tying a season low. Delaware leads the ASUN with 8.64 goals allowed per game and is only allowing 19.2 shot attempts per game. During UD's nine-game winning streak, the program's longest since the 1999-2000 seasons, the defense is allowing a paltry 7.22 goals per game and has held six opponents under the 10-goal threshold.
This is Stolarick's first-career weekly honor, and the third of the season for the Blue & Gold. Ella Rishko was named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week on March 30 and Jaclyn Marszal earned offensive player of the week honors on April 6.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will head out on the road for their final two games of the regular season, starting with a matchup at Queens on Thursday, April 16. Opening draw is set for noon and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
