NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware men's basketball program signed Chuck Bailey III to the 2026-27 roster, head coach Martin Ingelsby announced Friday. Bailey III will join the Fightin' Blue Hens after spending the last two seasons at Nevada.
"We're excited to officially welcome Chuck to the Blue Hen basketball family," Ingelsby said. "He is an experienced, three-level scorer who will make an immediate impact for us and we can't wait to get him back to campus. Welcome to the 302, Chuck!"
Last season, the 6-4 guard started 14 of his 33 games played, averaging 18 minutes and 6.3 points per game, while shooting 38.7 percent from the field, 39.4 from three, and 74.4 from the line. He also put up a season-high 24 points in the season opener against Louisiana Tech, while netting a career-high five-of-seven 3-pointers. Bailey III also saw success in his first season at Nevada, as he appeared in 31 games, shooting 40.8 percent from the field, 32.0 from three, and 50.0 from the line.
Bailey III spent his freshman year at the University of Evansville where he earned a spot on the MVC All-Bench Team during the 2023-24 season and was named MVC Freshman of the Week four times.
Prior to attending Evansville, Bailey III was rated as a four-star prospect by ESPN and a three-star recruit by 247Sports. ESPN ranked him as the No. 3 player in Michigan, No. 22 in the Midwest, and No. 35 nationally at his position. He also earned Third Team All-State recognition and First Team All-Area by the Detroit News.
