JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – University of Delaware women's lacrosse senior attacker Jaclyn Marszal has been named the Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. The award recognizes Marszal's performance in Delaware's 13-12 victory over Saint Joseph's last week.
Marszal led the Fightin' Blue Hens with eight points against the Hawks, tying her season high of four goals and dishing out four assists. She also added a key caused turnover and ground ball in the final seconds of the game to preserve the one-goal victory. Marszal factored in seven of Delaware's first eight goals as the Blue Hens overcame a halftime deficit for the first time this season.
The senior is the first Blue Hen since Delaney McDaniel in 2023 to have multiple games in a season with at least eight points. Marszal also had eight points at Lindenwood last month. She is now tied for second on the Blue Hens with 39 points this season, and she is second in the ASUN with 23 assists and 1.92 assists per game, trailing only her teammate Sophia Muscolino.
Delaware is currently 8-4 on the season and sits atop the ASUN standings at 4-0. The Blue Hens are riding a seven-game winning streak, the program's longest since the 2000 season. Marszal and the offense has scored at least 13 goals in seven-straight games, the longest streak by a UD team since 2000.
This is Marszal's first-career weekly honor, and the second of the season for the Blue & Gold as Ella Rishko was named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week on March 30.
