Four-time letter winner that is a skilled attacker with great vision • adds speed and skill to the transition game • eight career hat tricks • CAA Academic Honor Roll • National College Athlete Honor Society member • graduated in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Education and Human Development.
2016 SEASON
Saw action in eight contests while earning the starting nod at Rutgers (Feb. 27) • tallied goals against George Washington (Feb. 16) and La Salle (Feb. 23) • also recorded a caused turnover against the Explorers • collected ground balls in back-to-back wins vs. the Scarlet Knights and Canisius (March 5) • National College Athlete Honor Society (Chi Alpha Sigma) member • CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
2015 SEASON
Started 15 of 18 games played during junior campaign • had a breakout season by recording a career-best 25 points with 24 goals • added nine groundballs and four caused turnovers • opened year with hat tricks in four of the first five games • finished season with six hat tricks • collected four points on three goals and one assist in 22-2 rout over Lafayette (Feb. 17) • posted career-high four goals in 12-7 win against Rutgers (Feb. 28) • registered first career game-winning goal in 15-4 victory versus George Washington (March 21) • CoSIDA Academic All-American nominee • National College Athlete Honor Society member.
2014 SEASON
Appeared in two games, but did not record any statistics in contests against Temple and Virginia Tech • CAA Academic Honor Roll.
2013 SEASON
Competed in 14 games while starting nine for the Blue Hens as a freshman • CAA and WomensLax.com Rookie of the Week (March 18) • fourth on the team with 16 draw controls • sixth with 11 goals and 12 points • collected eight groundballs and two caused turnovers • scored first career goal against at La Salle on March 1 • dished out lone assist on the season at Lehigh on March 5 • tallied a season-best three draw controls against at Lafayette (March 16) and vs. Old Dominion (April 12) • collected a season-best three groundballs against James Madison on April 5 • picked up first career hat tricks in back-to-back games against Loyola (March 13) and Lafayette (March 16) • helped guide Delaware to its first win over a ranked opponent and the highest ranked foe since 2000 in No. 11 Loyola on March 13.

McKenzie Leigh Rafferty • born April 4, 1994 in Ephrata, Pa. • daughter of Charlie and Sharon Rafferty • has two younger brothers, Drew and Bryan • nickname is “Raff” • father played football at Widener University from 1981-85 • majoring in Early Childhood Education with the goals of becoming a kindergarten teacher • minoring in Disabilities Studies, Human Development and Family Studies and Coaching Science • spent time as a LYA golf counselor and lacrosse referee • enjoys wakeboarding, snowboards, golfing and travel • began playing lacrosse at age 10 and golf at age 14 • chose Delaware because of the great education and athletics experience and felt it was an awesome fit for her • cites her parents as a major influence on her life because they taught her to compete at a high level in addition to helping her become passionate about a game that they introduced to her.
