Pat Rogers enters his sixth season as the University of Delaware men's basketball director of operations in 2021-22.
During his first year with the Blue Hens in 2016-17, Rogers helped Delaware with 13 games including a victory over Hofstra in the CAA Tournament, while the Blue Hens posted 14 wins in 2017-18 and again earned a league tournament victory by defeating Elon in the first round.
In 2018-19 the Blue Hens finished 17-16 and were fifth in the CAA standings, posting their highest win total and highest CAA finish in five years. Delaware erased a 14-point halftime deficit in the 85-79 win over William & Mary in the CAA quarterfinals, the largest halftime comeback in CAA Tournament history.
A Blue Hen earned the CAA Rookie of the Year award in both of his first two years, while Delaware was the only CAA school to earn an All-Rookie Team selection in each of his first three seasons.
In 2019-20 the Blue Hens finished 22-11, posting a five-win improvement and recording the eighth 20-win season in program history. Delaware set a program record by winning its first nine games, earning a vote in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time in two decades. The Blue Hens tied for fourth place in the CAA and defeated Charleston in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals for the second consecutive year.
Prior to arriving in Newark, Rogers previously served three seasons on the Notre Dame men’s basketball staff along with UD head coach Martin Ingelsby, including the final two as video coordinator. In his position, he worked with the day-to-day oversight of the program and in the administration of the Notre Dame Boys Basketball camps held during the summer.
A native of Lake Zurich, Ill., Rogers was a student manager for the Irish for two seasons before graduating from Notre Dame in 2010 with a degree in accountancy from the Mendoza College of Business. He then spent two years as a graduate assistant with the Providence men’s basketball program and received a master’s degree in business administration, before serving as director of basketball operations at The Citadel during the 2012-13 season.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the University of Delaware community and have the chance to work with Coach Ingelsby, who I view as both a mentor and a friend,” Rogers said at the time of his hiring. “I’m ready to hit the ground running and get to work.”
“Pat was an integral part of our success at Notre Dame and I am thrilled that he will join us at Delaware," Ingelsby said. "He will spearhead our video and analytics efforts and work closely with our student-athletes to help enhance their experience here. His versatility and skill set make him an extremely valuable addition to our staff."
