Brendon Post was named the Delaware men’s golf head coach in November 2023. Post has been a member of the Delaware coaching staff since the 2011-12 season, the inaugural season for the women's program. He began working with both the men's and women's programs during the 2017-18 season and was promoted to associate head coach and director of player development in September 2020.
Since taking over the reigns of the men’s program, Post has led the Blue Hens to 10 top-five placings, including eight in 10 tournaments during the 2024-25 season, three runner-up finishes and a team victory at the 2025 Rutherford Intercollegiate (Penn State). Overall, Post has helped lead a resurgence in the men’s program since he began working with the team prior to the 2017-18 season. Delaware has won three tournaments and had 34 top-five finishes with seven runner-up finishes.
Under his leadership, the Blue Hens have set program records for the 18-hole team round (267 at the 2020 Loyola Intercollegiate), the 36-hole team score (551 at the 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge), and the 54-hole team score (834 at the 2021 Golfweek Fall Challenge). Additionally, the 2019-20 squad set a school record with a 74.21 team stroke average.
Post has coached four All-CAA selections, and Casper Nerpin was named the 2022 CAA Rookie of the Year. Roberto Nieves earned back-to-back first team recognition in 2021-22 and was selected to compete in the 2022 NCAA New Haven Regional as an individual. Nerpin was an All-CAA Second Team selection after placing third at the 2025 CAA Championship, Delaware's highest individual placing at the championship since 2012.
Post, the husband of Delaware Director of Golf Programs Patty Post, arrived in Newark as an assistant coach for the women’s team prior to the inaugural season in 2011-12. He helped lead the program to great success on the course, including winning the 2016 and 2017 CAA Championships. Six Blue Hens earned all-conference honors, including two CAA Rookie of the Year awards, and Andi Slane won consecutive CAA Championship individual titles in 2015 and 2016.
Prior to coming to Delaware, Post worked alongside Patty as the assistant women's golf coach at Georgetown. He has served as a PGA director of instruction with the Clubgolf Performance Center since 2004 and has more than 20 years of teaching experience. Post has also served as Director of Golf at Fair Oaks Golf Park and has worked as an assistant golf professional at Admirals Cove (Jupiter, Fla.), Columbine Country Club (Littleton, Colo.) and Cliffside Country Club (Simsbury, Conn.).
Post spent two years playing professionally before turning his attention to teaching and coaching. As a club professional, he has qualified for the PGA Professional Championship eight times, one Senior PGA Professional Championship as well as two Korn Ferry Tour events. He is still actively playing tournaments within the Philadelphia PGA Section, having won the 2023 TaylorMade Classic and finishing in the top seven – including two wins, a runner-up and two third-place finishes – in seven of the eighth tournaments on the senior circuit.
Brendon and Patty have two daughters, Miranda and Kiera, and a son, Landon.
