Jackie Mullens joined the Delaware coaching staff prior to the 2021-22 season. She coached with both the men’s and women’s team for two seasons before working primarily with the women’s program. Mullens was promoted to associate head coach of the women’s team in November 2023.
Since arriving in Newark, Mullens has helped lead the Delaware women to immense success, including four team tournament titles and five individual medalist honors. The Blue Hens defended their Kingsmill Intercollegiate crown in 2021-22 while Oihana Etxezarreta won the tournament for the second straight-season. Alisa Khokhlova won three tournaments over a two-year span, including consecutive titles at UD’s own Lady Blue Hen Invitational in 2023 and 2024. The Blue Hens won their third CAA Championship in 2024, advancing to the NCAA Tournament, and Lilia Henkel became UD’s third individual to claim the conference title.
Mullens has helped coach seven All-CAA honorees, including two each in 2023 (Kittelson, Carroll) and 2024 (Khokhlova, Carroll). Khokhlova earned back-to-back selections in 2024-25.
In her two seasons with the Delaware men’s team, Mullens helped lead the Blue Hens to a pair of tournament victories. In her first tournament, UD won the Golfweek Fall Challenge by one stroke after carding a final round of 18-under par 270, the second-best single team round in program history. Delaware’s 54-hole score of 834 and two-round score of 551 both set UD records. The Blue Hens also won the ODU/OBX Intercolleigate later in the season, posting the second-best 36-hole (556) and 54-hole (839) scores in program history. Roberto Nieves earned consecutive All-CAA First Team honors in 2021-22 and was selected to compete in the NCAA Tournament as an individual. Sparky Ariyachatvakin also earned All-CAA honors in 2023.
Prior to Delaware, Mullens started her career in coaching at Seton Hall University. She spent three seasons with the Pirates, helping lead them to 18 top-10 finishes, three team victories, four individual victories, and a runner-up finish at the 2018 BIG East Championship. Seton Hall achieved a program-high ranking of 54th in the country during the 2019-20 season. During her tenure, Mullens coached nine All-American Scholar award winners, implementing a culture that allowed student-athletes to be successful on the golf course and in the classroom.
Mullens played her collegiate career at Rutgers University, graduating in 2016 with a degree in Exercise Science-Kinesiology. At the 2016 BIG Ten Championship, Mullens carded a 5-over par 221 to finish 35th out of 83 players. Mullens also received all-academic honors after the 2013-14 season.
